In Spanish, whenever you ask a question in writing, you should put an inverted question mark "¿" before the question. If you'd like to make an exclamation, it is seen as good manners to include the inverted exclamation mark "¡" in front of that sentence.

Let's have a look at some examples:
"¿Dónde está mi barco, chico?"
("Where's my ship, boy?")
"¡Déjame en paz, viejo hombre!"
("Leave me alone, old man!")
"¡Hombre al agua!"
("Man overboard!")
Note: You can also start the question or the exclamation in the middle of a sentence if you so desire:

"Señor Alejandro, ¿cuándo comenzará nuestro duelo de sable?"
("Sir Alejandro, when will our saber duel start?")
"Ya te he dicho amigo, ¡yo no tengo tus malditos Dublones!
Y ahora ¡vete por ahí!"
("I've already told ya, friend, I do not have yer cursed Dubloons!
And now get lost!")
